Eligibility and Consent for Services Policy
Effective Date: 10/14/2025
Services through Beachn Behavior LLC may only be requested and consented to by a parent or legal guardian of the child.
Because these consultations involve discussion of the child’s development, behavior, and family routines, legal consent is required to ensure compliance with HIPAA, BACB Ethics Code (2022, Section 1.05 & 2.02), and Virginia law.
Services provided by Beachn Behavior LLC are designed for parents and legal guardians of autistic children or children currently being evaluated for autism who have received a referral or recommendation from a healthcare provider.
To participate, the child must:
Be between the ages of 2 and 12 years old,
The family resides in Virginia, Florida, or California, and
The child has a confirmed autism diagnosis or be awaiting diagnostic evaluation with a professional referral.
Consent and Legal Authority
Consultations may only be requested and consented to by the child’s parent or legal guardian.
By scheduling services, you confirm that you are legally authorized to make decisions regarding the child’s care and participation.
If another caregiver (e.g., grandparent, stepparent, or babysitter) will participate, written authorization from the legal guardian must be provided prior to the consultation. Beachn Behavior LLC reserves the right to request documentation verifying guardianship or authorization when necessary.
Scope of Eligibility
Beachn Behavior LLC provides parent consultation and education services focused on behavioral understanding, prevention strategies, and skill-building support. These services are not a replacement for ongoing ABA therapy, medical treatment, or mental health care. If, during the consultation, it becomes clear that a child’s needs fall outside the scope of this service model, the BCBA will provide appropriate referrals and guidance for next steps.
