Smooth seas don’t make good sailors…
Beachn Behavior is here to help you ride the waves
Beachn Behavior Mission Statement
Beachn Behavior was founded out of a genuine passion for the autism community and a commitment to fill the gap so many families face while waiting for services. After years of seeing parents feel stuck, wanting to help their autistic child but unsure how. The founder saw a need for accessible, educational support that empowers families to take meaningful action right away. Every parent deserves clear direction, evidence-based strategies, and hope while they wait for ongoing care.
Parent consultations are designed to teach families how to apply the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in a simple, practical, and effective way. Each session focuses on education, helping parents understand why behaviors occur and how to respond with confidence. The goal is to provide tools that can be used immediately at home to encourage growth, communication, and independence.
This service is built on collaboration and respect for each family’s unique story. Rather than overwhelming parents with technical language or rigid programs, the approach emphasizes learning through compassion, patience, and real-life examples. Together, we focus on creating small, achievable steps that lead to lasting progress.
Beachn Behavior exists to empower families through knowledge and guidance. By combining compassion with science, parents gain the understanding and confidence to create positive change at home. Every consultation is a step toward turning uncertainty into skill, and each small wave of learning builds toward lasting growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No, Beachn Behavior provides support for children with a confirmed autism diagnosis, as well as for families who have been referred by a medical professional for an autism evaluation. Consultation services are designed to teach evidence-based ABA strategies that can benefit all children by improving communication, independence, and daily routines.
However, it’s important to note that while ABA strategies are effective for many learners, they may not always be the most appropriate intervention for children who do not meet criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Beachn Behavior’s role is to provide education, guidance, and support while helping families identify next steps and appropriate resources for their child’s individual needs.
-
Beachn Behavior offers consultation services to parents or legal guardians of children between the ages of 2 and 21 who have an autism diagnosis or are currently awaiting autism testing. Due to licensing regulations, consultations can only be provided to families residing in Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho, South Carolina, West Virginia, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine, California, and Florida, and are currently offered only in English. These services are designed to help caregivers understand and address behavior, communication, and daily living skills using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). While ABA strategies can benefit many children, Beachn Behavior specializes in supporting those whose learning and behavioral needs align with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Families without a formal diagnosis are welcome to participate with the understanding that strategies may be most effective for children on the autism spectrum, and additional referrals may be suggested to ensure the most appropriate level of support.

A supportive, short-term service designed to guide parents of children with autism who are seeking clarity, direction, and practical next steps.
An Autism Parent Professional Consultation is a one-on-one, parent-focused service where you meet with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to discuss your child, your concerns, and the challenges you’re facing at home or in the community. It’s not ABA therapy, it’s expert guidance.
During your consultation, we talk about what’s going on day-to-day and identify strategies grounded in evidence-based practice that can help you support your child more effectively. You’ll learn how behavior works, how to set up your environment for success, how to respond during tough moments, and how to teach new skills in a way that feels doable at home.
This service is especially helpful for:
families on an ABA waitlist
families exploring whether ABA is a good fit
parents wanting support while navigating school, IEPs, or home routines
families experiencing new or unexpected behaviors
caregivers wanting to learn behavior-analytic tools they can use themselves
families who don’t need full ABA therapy but want professional guidance
These consultations are short-term, empowering, and built around your goals. The focus is always on education, coaching, and helping you understand why behaviors occur and how to support your child in a compassionate, effective way.on

Commonly requested services that Beachn Behavior is unable to provide:
Provide a medical or psychological diagnosis: Only licensed physicians or psychologists can diagnose conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, or anxiety.
Prescribe or recommend medication: Medication decisions must come from a licensed medical provider; a BCBA can only discuss behavioral side effects that may be relevant to treatment planning.
Replace or function as direct therapy: Parent consultation teaches strategies, but it is not the same as one-on-one ABA therapy or direct intervention with the child.
Make IEP or educational placement decisions: BCBAs can help interpret behavioral data or explain how certain supports work, but only the IEP team can make placement or service decisions.
Guarantee specific behavioral outcomes: Behavior change is a process that depends on consistency, environment, and individual differences; no ethical BCBA can promise fixed results.
Implement physical or aversive interventions: Physical management, restraints, or any aversive procedures are outside the scope of consultation and must follow strict oversight within approved treatment plans.
Provide mental health counseling or psychotherapy: ABA consultation focuses on observable behavior, not emotional processing or counseling, which fall under a therapist or counselor’s scope.
Conduct or interpret medical or psychological testing:While a BCBA can perform behavioral assessments, they cannot administer or interpret IQ tests, developmental batteries, or neurological evaluations.
Supervise or manage staff from another company: Consultation is educational for parents and caregivers only; it cannot be used to direct or supervise another provider’s employees or contractors.
Override medical, school, or therapeutic recommendations: A BCBA can collaborate and provide insight, but final decisions must remain with the licensed professional or agency responsible for the child’s care.

Beachn Behavior was founded by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over five years of clinical experience across home, community, clinic, and telehealth settings. The name was born from a deep connection to the ocean — a place where calm meets movement, where every wave reshapes the shore, and where growth happens quietly, one ripple at a time.
Just as the sea never rushes its tides, Beachn Behavior believes that learning and change should unfold with patience, balance, and care. The ocean teaches that progress isn’t always loud or linear; sometimes it’s found in the gentle pull of consistency, the steady rhythm that transforms rough waters into something clear and beautiful.
Challenges are part of the journey: they build strength, resilience, and understanding. Like the vibrant marine life that adapts and thrives beneath the waves, every child has their own rhythm, strengths, and way of growing. Beachn Behavior embraces that individuality, blending evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with compassion and creativity. Each service is designed to help families understand their child’s world, build confidence in the process, and nurture lasting change that flows as naturally as the tide returning to shore.
