Consent to Telehealth Services Policy

Beachn Behavior LLC provides consultation and parent coaching services using secure telehealth platforms. This policy explains what telehealth is, its limitations, and how consent is obtained before services begin.

Nature of Telehealth Services

All consultations with Beachn Behavior LLC are conducted through HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms. Telehealth allows families to receive professional support and education from the comfort of their home while maintaining the same level of confidentiality and professionalism as in-person meetings.

These sessions are designed for educational and consultative purposes only and are not a substitute for medical care, ABA therapy, or mental health treatment.

Technology and Security

  • Telehealth sessions are conducted via secure, encrypted video platforms that meet HIPAA compliance standards.

  • To protect confidentiality, families should participate from a private, quiet space free of interruptions.

  • Beachn Behavior LLC does not permit recording of telehealth sessions unless prior written consent is obtained from all parties.

Limitations of Telehealth

While telehealth offers convenience and accessibility, it also has limitations:

  • Technical issues such as poor internet connection may temporarily interrupt the session.

  • Telehealth may not be appropriate in all situations, particularly in emergencies or cases requiring in-person evaluation.

  • The BCBA cannot ensure safety or crisis intervention during a telehealth session.

If it becomes clear that telehealth services are not meeting your family’s needs, alternative recommendations or referrals will be provided.

Consent and Acknowledgment

By scheduling and participating in telehealth consultations with Beachn Behavior LLC, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You understand the nature and purpose of telehealth consultation services.

  • You have had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers about telehealth.

  • You understand that these services are educational and not medical or therapeutic in nature.

  • You consent to receive consultation and communication through HIPAA-compliant telehealth technology.
